Manly Spirits launches new ready-to-drink gin and tonics

Manly Spirits Co. Distillery is launching its highly anticipated low alcohol by volume, low calorie, ready-to-drink craft gin and tonics this month. The gin and tonics are the first ready-to-drink options from Manly Spirits. The company is launching the new offering with two variations: Manly Spirits Gin & Tonic with Australian Dry Gin and Manly Spirits Pink Gin & Tonic with Lilly Pilly Pink Gin.
“We were finding that people who enjoyed our premium gins at home were having to compromise when it came to bringing drinks to a barbeque, dinner party or picnics,” says Vanessa Wilton, Co-founder of Manly Spirits. “If you appreciate high quality, craft gin, why should you have to compromise when you are choosing a no-fuss, ready-to-drink option?
“The Manly Spirits Pink G&T also has the added benefit of having zero sugar and low calories for the health-conscious consumer. We like to call it a guilt-free G&T!”
With the trend toward mindful drinking Manly Spirits has crafted its drinks to be only one standard drink per bottle. “We’ve achieved that without compromising on flavour by increasing the amount of botanicals used in our recipes. We have designed and manufactured both the gin and the tonic which means that we have been able to tailor our recipes to deliver what our customers would expect from a craft premium gin mixed with a quality tonic.”
Perfecting the recipes took several months. “Our gins won gold medals at the 2019 World Gin Awards,” says Co-founder David Whittaker, “so any new product we added to our range had to be high quality. The most important thing is that the unique flavours from our Australian Dry Gin and Lilly Pilly Pink Gin shine through. We don’t want to make a G&T just for convenience, for us it’s all about making a high quality drink that just happens to come in a convenient, ready-to-go bottle.”
With an established range of artisan spirits, Manly Spirits was determined to bring that same premium, craft quality into its convenient, ready-to-drink option.
“Our new gin and tonics are packaged in beautiful bespoke glass bottles manufactured by O-I Australia with our signature Manly Spirits Fibonacci pattern on the bottles. At 275ml these miniature versions of our 700ml bottles have strong visual appeal. Glass is infinitely recyclable and the O-I bottles are a great fit with our commitment to sustainability.
“We know people love our beautifully crafted bespoke 700ml spirit bottles, so we didn’t want to compromise when it came to designing and sourcing the bottles for our Gin & Tonics. We wanted to make sure they felt just as nice to drink from and to display – and that’s what we did!” says Vanessa.
The products and packaging are all Australian made with no plastic involved. The ingredients, labels and packaging, and the glass bottles themselves, prove that Australian manufacturing is still alive and thriving, says Vanessa.
“Every piece of this product can be recycled and reused. Now more than ever we need to think a bit beyond the drink, and design for a product’s entire lifecycle, including life after use.
“Our goal is for people to move away from single use and either reuse or recycle our bottles and packaging. The bottles are so attractive that they can be used as dispensers for soap or creams or for a wide range of other uses. We use them in our distillery tasting bar for our cocktail syrups.”
Serving suggestions:
Serve chilled straight from the bottle. For a quick gin bowl, we recommend garnishing the Australian Dry Gin & Tonic with slice of lime and basil and garnishing the Pink Gin & Tonic with grapefruit and edible flowers.
