Australia's best and most delicious meat pie revealed
A classic meat pie from a humble bakery has been crowned the best in Australia.
7News.com.au reported Whittlesea Bakehouse, about 40 kilometres north-east from Melbourne’s CBD, took the lead at the 2022 Great Aussie Pie Competition 2022 after claiming the coveted ‘Best Plain Meat Pie’ title.
The family bakery’s plain mince pie beat out stiff competition from 1500 entrants across the country to take out the number one spot.
“The A Team have done it again! Winner of best plain pie Australia! Winners are grinners,” the bakery said on its Facebook page.
