If you write out messages line by line instead of sending them in one text then you are guilty of a habit that men hate most, a leading dating expert has revealed.

The Daily Mail reports Perth relationship expert and matchmaker Louanne Ward from said this approach annoys men for a number of reasons as it can 'feel controlling and embarrassing' when their phone keeps flashing or beeping.

'The woman is doing the initiation and controlling the pace and tone of the conversation,' Louanne told the website.

'When being pinged little one liner messages like a machine gun one after the next that are all part of the same message, [men] don’t get a chance to reply and things also get lost in translation," she said.

Men also feel obligated to reply to each and every message or run the risk of 'being accused of not replying' to one or all of the elements.

'Many don't like the sound of repeated notifications, which can be both annoying and embarrassing,' Louanne said.
