Mediterranean-inspired Australian swimwear brand PLIVATI launched August 2019. Since announcing the upcoming launch of a new spring collection that responds to the demand for more ethical, sustainable and recycled swimwear, the brand has been picked up by a number of international newspapers and magazines all over Croatia and Australia.

The articles have appeared in Croatia's largest newspaper in print and online 24 Sata, Super1 - Telegram, Dnevno, Croatia Week and on the front page of the Hrvatski Vjesnik (published in Australia) just to name a few.

As a new, start up business, the founder Julianne Bobanovic, has been overwhelmed with the response. "I never imagined my designs would reach so far in such a short space of time. The customer support has been incredible and I've had messages and orders from all over the world", Julianne said.

The latest collection, ‘Plaža’, is made from recycled material. Featuring bold, bright colours and natural hues, the collection has been designed with European summers in mind –think adventures through the villages by the sea in Croatia, Italy and Greece surrounded by the beautiful hot pink bougainvillea, the flowering prickly pears along the coastline and the bright yellow sunflowers standing tall in the fields.

PLIVATI’s founder, Julianne Bobanovic, said she wanted to ensure the brand continued to maintain its quality whilst being even more environmentally conscious. Ms Bobanovic said that more and more, designers like herself are looking for innovative sustainable alternatives that are gentle on the environment. ‘Our aim has always been to create an ethical, luxurious and modest brand with sustainability in mind. Up until now, we’ve been using ethical manufacturers, reusable and biodegradable wet bags to present the swimwear in and biodegradable, compostable mailers when sending our swimwear to our customers,’ said Ms Bobanovic. ‘This new recycled fabric using components from discarded fishing nets and plastic waste found in the ocean is taking us to a level of sustainability we can be even more proud of.’

PLIVATI’s new swimwear range is carefully tailored, designed to be modest and complementary to various body types with its two new Mediterranean-inspired prints, low-to-high waist cuts and removable padding. The new ‘Plaža’ collection has been created to compliment the existing ‘Peninsula’ collection which was launched late 2019.

The premium new fabrics are fully lined, UP50+ and ultra-chlorine resistant in the women’s swimwear range, and are built to hold shape and retention. The stylish new collection remains true- to-size with the women’s range available in sizes 8-16 (Australian sizing).

PLIVATI's current collection 'Peninsula' is available online now and are hoping to officially release the new collection by August 2020.

About PLIVATI

PLIVATI in Croatian translates to ‘swim’ in English. PLIVATI was founded by Julianne, a mother of two young boys and a husband with Croatian heritage who, along with her love for the Mediterranean, travel and fashion, provided the influence for the name and brand.

Growing up on the beaches of the Gold Coast, Julianne has always had a love of the beach and swimwear. A former young fashion model and with years of corporate business behind her, Julianne put her skills into practice to create and design the swimwear line and brand PLIVATI.

PLIVATI provides women, men and children with a range of modest swimwear in Mediterranean- influenced prints and comfortable, high-quality material and designs that are chlorine resistant and UPF 50+. Sustainable and ethically produced swimwear and packaging is at the forefront of the brand’s direction.
